Internist or Family Practice physician with Board Certification in Palliative Care. – patient ages range from pediatrics to geriatrics. This physician will serve as Medical Director of the program. 30% of time administration, 70% patient care. Will not necessarily oversee physicians, but the physician component of the program – review plan of care of each attending physician. Patient visits to home and hospitals. Hospice team includes about 18 staff members. Physician is not overseeing staff, but providing oversight for all aspects of the program. Physician is required to be actively involved in all aspects of the program. Employed position, comprehensive benefits and malpractice covers your tail.
