Hospital employed position at this level III trauma center. Pay is $148/hour, full benefits with malpractice insurance and CME Allowance of $4k. Alternating shifts (day, evenings and nights) 12, 10 and 8 hour shifts. Always two ER physicians on staff at one time; never solo in ER. 80 total hours of coverage including NP’s and Nurses.Three to one nurse to patient ratio in trauma Area. 24/7 Telemetry, 60,000 visits per year, 160 patients per day estimated. ER consists of 14 physicians adding additional physician, based on need. 60 Bed ER unit with fast track, trauma and acute care beds, Psych center, HBO chamber. All EM trained staff.
