A premier medical center is recruiting for an experienced BC Adult Psychiatry Physician to counsel Breast Cancer patients and terminally ill cancer patients and their family members. This physician will be a member on the tumor board working closely with the oncology physician and pharmacist and will have the ability to prescribe pharmaceutical drugs to help counteract the cancer treatment symptoms. This Psychiatry physician will work from a laptop and have a virtual office floating between the medical centers and outpatient clinic. They will be part of the weekend call schedule 1:4 and are compensated for taking call. This 52 bed service houses acute beds, combined MI-DD beds and combined Med-Psych beds in an 861 bed tertiary care hospital serving Eastern and coastal NC. In addition to administrative responsibilities, the successful candidate will also provide direct clinical care, assist in the teaching and clinical supervision of medical students, residents, and other health professional trainees; collaborate with other faculty members in conducting clinical research, with the opportunity to initiate projects if desired; and function as a University faculty member, performing such duties as appropriate to academic rank and position. Requirements are MD or equivalent degree, completion of accredited psychiatric residency training, prefer certification in Psychiatry, BE/BC in Psychiatry, and 5 years of experience.
